After Brexit, I obtained the indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I split my time between teaching at the University of Paris and translating when home.
I discovered the world of translation whilst I was doing my LLM at Leicester University and started working as a translation and interpreter for the School of Modern Languages where I became a lecturer. After a few years in academia, I moved to the private sector and became operations manager for the then well-known translation company Praetorius UK (now part of the Logos Group conglomerate) before setting up my own business as a freelance translator in 2001. With degrees in law from both French and UK universities, I translate all legal documents from English into French and French into English, mostly on behalf of large translation companies although I do keep a few personal clients.

Experience
In the translation world since 1992
Over 30 years of experience! A plethora of contracts translated for Eurodisney, Rolls Royce, Transmanche Link, Vauxhall... and many of the top London and Leeds law firms! Before Brexit, I used to translate most "letters of request" from the UK government asking for legal assistance from judicial authorities in French speaking countries. The automotive world is my second specialty, having translated EPC News (electronic parts catalogue) for GM/Vauxhall, user's manuals for Renault, Nissan and Toyota, and a lot of Rolls Royce brochures before BMW took over the company.
Knowledge second to none
User of the original Trados since 1994, and conversant with all major software used in the industry, I worked as a consultant in all aspects of languages services, translation, interpreting, globalization, localization, internationalization, g11n, L10n, i18n, etc. I was working on such projects long before the terms and acronyms were coined! Representing Praetorius UK at the European Commission experts groups on L10n and i18n, as well as LISA, the now defunct Localization Industry Standards Association. I have worked on cross-cultural communication projects aiming to unlock new markets, streamline processes or enhance companies' reputation to create a globalised workplace.
